J. A. Davenport of 916A Wood Street was notified of the death of his son Roland D. Davenport, 28, Sunday afternoon by police Lieutenant B. R. Reed.
The police department of Hartford, Ohio, called Waco police Sergeant Sam Aday and told him Mr. Davenport had been killed during a racing accident (sprint car) at Hartford,Ohio,at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
Lt. Reed delivered the message to Davenport a few minutes later.
Roland had never lived in Waco.
