James Rolla "JR" Harrison, 77, of Clarkton died Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, in Clarkton.
Born in Clarkton on July 11, 1931, he was the son of the late Wade Beach and Susie Pearl (Akridge) Harrison. He was united in marriage to Pauline Johnson in Pocahontas, Ark., on July 14, 1951, and she preceded him in death on Nov. 11, 1993.
He also was preceded in death by one son, James Edward Harrison; two sisters, Margaret Casey and Pauline Nash; two brothers, Robert Harrison and Roland Harrison; one granddaughter, Christin Wilburn; one grandson, Raymond Vannasdall; and one great-granddaughter, Makayla Harrison.
Surviving are six sons, Larry (Linda) Harrison, Scott (Julie) Harrison and Philip (Tina) Harrison, all of Clarkton, and Jimmy (Ruth) Harrison and Ronnie Harrison, all of Kennett; three daughters, Pat (Mark) Bailey of Clarkton and Phyllis (Mark) Carnell and Debbie (Alva) Shirley, all of Kennett; one sister, Sylvia Reed of Mountain Home, Ark.; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Saturday, Jan. 3, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, Jan. 4, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Roscoe Gray officiating. Burial was in Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton. Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden was in charge of arrangements.
