S.J. (Jack) Herring Dies Wednesday
Funeral Services To Be Held Here Saturday Afternoon
Seph J. (Jack) Herring, 72, died Wednesday evening at his home, 514a Court street, after an illness of five months. He had been suffering with a heart condition.
Funeral services will be held at the Wallace Funeral Home Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock with the Rev. C.E. Hanan officiating, and burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Clarence Foster. Steve Ruffel, Elwood Day, Fred Rentschler, Ollie Robert, and Tom Day.
Mr. Herring was a paper hanger and painter. He was born in Callaway County on December 11, 1875, a son of George W. and Joe Allen Herring. On August 16, 1910, he and Miss Myrtie Qualls were married. He is survived by his widow and two children, George Herring of Fulton, and Mrs. Ruby Payton of Long Beach, Calif., three grandchildren, Jan and Ralph Herring and Rodney Payton, and eight brothers and sisters, Norman and Grover Herring of Melrose, Fla., Woodson Herring of Craig, Colo., Herbert Herring and Mrs. Myrtle McCormick of Kansas City, Brent Herring of Detroit, Mich., Robert Herring and Mrs. Mamie Waters of Fulton.
