Dewey G. Ballard, 72, of 5595 Muddy Creek Road, husband of Polly Ballard, died at 6:40 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph East, Lexington.

A native of Powell County, he was the son of the late Elza and Grace Barnes Ballard. He was a retired employee of Bundy Tubing Co. and a retired stone mason. He was a member and deacon of Allansville Baptist Church.

Additional survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Paul Gregory and Tina Ballard, Nicholasville, and Thomas Glenn Ballard, Winchester; three grandchildren, Megan Kelley, Paris, and Levi Hill and Austin Hill, Nicholasville; four brothers, Coleman Ballard, Naples, Fla.; Goebel Ballard, Winter Haven, Fla.; Carlie Ballard, Cincinnati, and Lloyd Ballard, New Albany, Ind.; four sisters, Bonnie Arthur and Pat Rainey, Winchester; Esther Hall, Clay City, and Virginia Phares, New Market, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Scobee Funeral Home by Rev. Tom Cummings and Rev. Earl Waugh. Burial will be in Clarmont Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Donnie and Jimmy Sams, Kenneth Withers, Clay Caudill, Doug Morris, Freddie Fraley, Ernie Sparks and Gene Allen; honorary, deacons of Allansville Baptist Church.

Friends may call 5-9 p.m. Sunday.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Allansville Baptist Church, 1270 Red River Road, Winchester, Ky. 40391.
