Lawrence A. Giles, age 84, of Crystal River, FL, passed away on June 8, 2009, at Life Care Center in Lecanto, FL. He was born on January 27, 1925, in Charlottesville, Virginia, to Albert and Alfreda (Grout) Giles. Lawrence moved to Citrus County 28 years ago from Lawrence, Kansas. He was a retired Architectural Draftsman and past member of the Florida Modelers Association, the Society of Antique Modelers, and he was a Jazz Musician in the 1950s.
Survived by his wife, Evelyn Giles of Crystal River, FL; five children, Larry Giles Jr. of Norcross, GA, Lois Nusbickel of Cherry Lake, FL, Sandra Catt of Camby, OR, Michael Giles of Billerica, MA, and Sherry Gouge of Kearney, MO; one sister, Lois Giles of Fayetteville, Arkansas; fifteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends on Friday, June 12, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. at the Crystal River United Methodist Church. Inurnment will be at the Crystal River Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
