"Mrs. Barker Dies At 90".
Mrs.S.F. Barker, 90, of 1005 South Rockwood, died Tuesday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ora Brisco, 2001 SW 10. Services are pending at Hunter Funeral Home.
Mrs. Barker was born in Duffield, Virginia and came to Oklahoma from Texas in 1906. She and her husband settled in Guthrie and in 1927 she moved to Oklahomas City. Mrs Barker was a member of the Extension Division of Exchange Baptist Church.
Survivors besides her daughter are four sons: Clint and Rex both of Bakersfield, California. Clyde of Portland, Oregon and Cecil, 332 SE 40., a step son, George Barker of Pennington, Virginia. A brother Fayte Gibson, Duffield, Virginia, 58 grand children and about 90 great grand children.

Daughter of Wiley J Gibson and Hester Ann Fannon. Wife of Willian Henry Harrison "Bud" Barker, married 10 Jul 1892 Lee Co., Virginia. Sarah learned to be a mid-wife from her mother, Hester and delivered many babies. Family stories say Sarah was the mid-wife to Bud and Sarah (Nicholson) Barker. Two years later Bud and Sarah Frances married and she raised all 14 children ( 7 from Bud's 1st marriage to Sarah Nicholson ) and 7 from her marriage to Bud. She claimed and loved each and everyone of them as her own until the day she died!!! Look in her obituary and you will see the large family she had.
Her death certifcate lists her as 90 yrs old, the first census she appeard in 1880 Lee Co., Virginia lists her as 7 yrs old, her marriage certificate lists her as 21 in 1892, and her obituary makes her birth date as 1870 yet her head stone has 1864-1960.
Her children from Bud's 1 st marriage were :
George Washington, Sallie C, Mintor Franklin "Frank", William Fillmore "Bill", James Robert, Jackson Raymond "Ray", Maude.
Her children were:
Rex Robert, Emmet Clinton "Clint", Clyde Walter, Cecil Henry Sr, Homer McKinley "Jack", Ora Allene "Allie" Brisco, and Carrie.
