Sherry Kendall, 54, 1110 N. Marion Street, Mitchell, died at 5:50 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at her residence following a short illness.

Born May 21, 1954, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Charles P. and Kathryn M. (Cooper) Hedrick. She married Jeffrey Kendall on April 2, 1976, at the First Christian Church in Mitchell.

She worked for 33 years in the dietary department of Mitchell Manor.

She was a graduate of Mitchell High School and a member of the First Christian Church.

Survivors include her husband, Jeffrey Kendall of Mitchell; a daughter, Holly Ann Sykes and husband Nathan of Mitchell; a son, Anthony David Kendall and wife Brittany of Oolitic; two granddaughters, Kathryn Marie and Brooklyn Nicole Sykes; a sister, Sheila Flora and husband George of Mitchell; her mother-in-law, Anetra Kendall of Mitchell; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Charlotte Hedrick; and her father-in-law, Donald Kendall.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Christian Church in Mitchell with Pastor Steve Scroggin officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.
