SPANISH AMERICAN WAR VETERAN WIDOW

Mrs. Calvin was born in Colorado. In 1920, she was living in Teller County, Colorado. Her husband, Evan was leasing a gold mine. Their son Homer was 16 and her son Horace A. Randel, was age 20. Ten years later in 1930 she can be found living in Seattle, Washington with her husband and son Homer. Her occupation was that of Milliner.

She was admitted to the Washington Veterans' Home in Retsil with her Spanish-American War veteran husband.

She died July 1980 at Retsil and is buried in the Home Cemetery. She does not have a tombstone.

Longtime Retsil Resident Crete Calvin, 98 for the last 20 years an invalid resident of Washington State Veterans' Home in that community, died there Friday.

She was born Nov. 7, 1881, in Roseta, Colo. She and her husband, a 20-year army veteran who served in the Spanish American War, moved to the town of Retsil in 1939. They had been married 43 years when he died. Mrs. Calvin had been a milliner.

Survivors include a son, Homer Calvin of Mesa, Ariz., and a stepsister in Seattle.

Private cremation arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at Retsil Cemetery.
