Harry P. Musser Jr., 83, passed away Sept. 28, 2005, while traveling in Prague, Czech Republic.

He was born in Charleston on May 26, 1922. He graduated from Charleston High School, class of 1940, and Virginia Tech, class of 1944. He served as a captain in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. He worked as an engineer at the West Virginia Engineering Company for 58 years, most recently as chairman of the board.

He faithfully served the Lord for 50 years as an elder of Rebecca Littlepage Presbyterian Church and later Riverview Presbyterian Church, Charleston. He also served for 50 years on the board of directors. He also served for 50 years on the board of directors at the Charleston Union Mission, 30 as chairman. He also served on the boards of the Presbyterian Evangelistic Fellowship and the Mission to the World of the Presbyterian Church in America. He was also active in the Charleston Christian Businessmen's Committee.
He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, Charleston, and served as president of the West Virginia Small Public Utilities Association.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Helen Musser; sons and their wives, David and Deborah Musser of Charleston, Dr. John Musser of San Francisco, Calif., and the Rev. Mark and Joyce Musser of Lake Grove, N.Y.; and daughter and her husband, Mary Beth and Mickey Moore of Lexington, Ky.

He is survived by his grandchildren, David Musser of Palatine, Ill., Kathryn, Jonathan and Eric Musser of Lake Grove, N.Y., and Elizabeth Moore of Lexington, Ky.

He is also survived by his nieces, Carolyn Andrews of Concord, Mass., and Joyce Morrow of Raymond, N.H.; and a nephew, Arthur Kell of New York, N.Y.

The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14 at Bream Memorial Presbyterian Church, Charleston.

A reception will be held at Bream Church's Fellowship Hall following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Charleston Union Mission.
Wilson Funeral Home, 420 Lee St. W, Charleston, is in charge of arrangements.
