Artemas married Miss Mercy Bates on June 13, 1802 in Gerry, Massachusetts (later called Phillipston.) Mr. Brown's death seems to be listed in both Phillipston and Stow, Massachusetts records. The original Phillipston record was personally viewed by this contributor on page 492 in the book containing births, marriages and death 1764-1851. The Stow file was not available to view on familysearch.org. It was found in the "Vital Records of Stow, Mass. to 1850" book which has a source for his death being a "private record". It's possible that could be more of a family history type record since he was born in that town.
