In 1882 the family moved to Jack County, TX. They lived on Dillingham Prairie, south of Long Hollow, until 1920, and then moved to Bryson. He was a merchant by trade.
Their children include Claudia Dona, Francis Louisa and John Hayden.
Daughter Francis died at the age of 31. Francis had 3 daughters, Iro, Bertha Nancy and Rachel Welch Alford who were raised by Thomas and Elizabeth. Granddaughter Bertha Alford lived with and cared for Thomas until his death.
