E. W. Weems, Sr.
Ervin W. Weems Sr., 81, of Winnsboro died Friday at St. Francis Hospital in Monroe after a lengthy illness.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of First National Funeral Home here, the Rev. Jerry Polk officiating.

Burial was in the Crowville Masonic Cemetery.

He was a retired farmer, a member of the Hill Ridge Baptist Church, and a resident of Franklin Parish for the last 45 years.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lettie C. Weems of Winnsboro; two sons, E. W. Weems of Monroe and C.R. "Jack" Weems of Oklahoma City, Okla.; ten daughters, Mrs. Irene Pylant and Mrs. Roy Johnson, both of Bastrop, Mrs. Alfred Martin of Monroe, Mrs. Buck Shepherd and Mrs. Blanchard Monroe, both of Delhi, Mrs. J. T. Monroe of Epps, Mrs. Charles Vain of Clemington, N. J., Mrs. Henry Hemnandez and Mrs. Ambers Bonner, both of Pineville, and Mrs. Ralph Griffing of Winnsboro; a brother, Ben Weems of Winnsboro; and 29 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
