OCTOGENARIAN DIES AT HOME
John Nelson Thomas, 85-year-old, Oxford , Route 1, farmer, died at his residence late last night. Funeral rites will be conducted at Chesea Springs Methodist Church Saturday afternoon at 3o'clock by the Rev. T.D. Stovall, and interment will be in the church cemetery. Usrey in charge.
Surviving are three sons, Waddie of Talladega, Jimmy of Edwardville and Wille of Oxford; two daughters, Mrs. Sallie Hamilton of Oxford and Mrs. Olan Dix of Anniston, and 29 grandchildren, 58 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Perry Hughes, Henry White, George Cobb, Earlie Bobo, Frank Snyder and Junior Cobb. Honorary pallbearers will be Norman and Radford Hamilton, William Dix, Jim and James Thomas and Naith Cobb.
