Kirk Cather Smith, 65, of Palisade, a resident of the Los Angeles area for much of him life, died Tuesday in St. Mary's Hospital following an illness of 18 months.
An electrical contractor during his active life, he moved to Palisade when he retired in March, 1977. Born Aug. 8, 1912, in Weston, W. Va., he spent his early life in Jefferson, Ohio. He moved to California in 1930, and was married there April 4, 1936, to Ethel Mary Kuhn.
Survivors, in addition to his wife: Daughters, Mrs. Edmund Berry, Mrs. Dennis Speck, both of Palisade; brother Vance Craig Smith, Los Angeles; four grandchildren.
