Nemiah Denton was born in New York in July 1855 and he and his wife, Aura, lived at Lawrence township, Grant County, Minnesota where he was engaged in farming and raising their family of one son, Henry E., and one daughter, Nora. They came to Goldstone, Montana to try their hand at homesteading.
In 1920 Nemiah was 65 and retired along with his wife Aura and were living with their son Henry, who was then farming. Mr. Denton died October 17, 1928.
