ELROY - Abbie J. Preuss, age 75, of Elroy, died on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004, at the Hess Memorial Hospital in Mauston. She was born on June 17, 1929, in Ontario, Wis., to John and Blanche (Boldon) Burch. On June 28, 1952, Abbie was united in marriage to Clarence Preuss at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hillsboro. She lived in Elroy, where she was a farm wife, and had also owned the Sportsman's Bar for eight years. She was also a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Survivors include her husband, Clarence of Elroy; three children, Steve (Pat) Preuss of Elroy, Kathy (Rick) Dogs of Elroy, and Jane (Tim) Hill of Mauston; six grandchildren, John Preuss, Dan Preuss, Nikki Coppernoll, Kyle Dogs, John Hill and Tanner Hill; two great-grandchildren, Tyler Newlun and Kasey Coppernoll; and a brother, Don (Phyllis) Burch of Elroy. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Melvin, Chancey and David Burch; and three sisters, Irene Schwartz, Evelyn Norwalk and Barbara Waschitz. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2004, at 11 a.m. at ZION EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, Elroy, with the Rev. Conrad Prell officiating. Burial will follow in the Elroy City Cemetery.
