Mrs. Nancy Beaman, widow of Samuel A. Beaman, died at 6:20 o'clock Tuesday morning at St. Mary's hospital. She would have been eighty years old in January. Her death was due to infirmities incident to old age. She had been in failing health for ten or twelve years. She had been in the hospital for three weeks.
Mrs. Beaman's maiden name was Nancy Andrews. She was born near Argenta, Jan. 14, 1847. Nearly all of her life was spent in Macon county. She resided for awhile in Shelby county. Her husband, Samuel A. Beaman, died twenty-six years ago. She was a member of the Baptist church and was well known among the old residents of the county. For the last sixteen years she had made her home with her son, J.W. Beaman, on rural route 3. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Nettie Williams of Decatur; Frank Lyons of Drummond, Okla.; Mrs. Sue Munsell of Russell, Kan.; Samuel Beaman of Hammond, Ind.; J.W. Beaman of Decatur; Mrs. Myrtle Seller of Champaign and Burton Beaman of Pittsburgh, Pa. There are twenty-three grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She also leaves two brothers and a sister, Isaac Andrews of Sangamon, Reuben Andrews of Decatur and Mrs. Ella Rosemond of Butler, Mo. There are two half-brothers and one half-sister, Albert and Edward Andrews of Chatham, Ill. and Mrs. David Strohm of Cerro Gordo. The body wads removed to the Moran & Sons undertaking establishment and prepared for burial.
