Edith Irene (Freer) Couch was the daughter of James Augustus and Emily V. (Vossberg) Freer, wife of Charles William Couch and mother of Anna Irene (Couch) Whitaker, James William Couch and Elizabeth "Betty" Couch Andrews.

Note: Upon just doing the Couch memorial, I saw in the Lansing State Journal obituary for Anna Irene (Couch) Whitaker in the Sunday June 14, 2009 paper showing that she was born January 18, 1910 in Aurelius, Michigan and passed away June 12, 2009. She was the youngest of three children of Charles William and Edith Irene (Freer) Couch. It said she was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bert Franklin Whitaker; daughter, Rita Jane Turner; sister Elizabeth "Betty" Couch Andrews; brother, James William Couch and survived by several children.

Her services will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at the Estes-Leadley, Holt/Delhi Chapel at 12:00 P.M. with the Rev. Harold M. DeMott officiating. Interment following in East Lawn Memory Gardens, 2400 Bennett Road, Okemos, Ingham Co., MI.
