Obituary. Star Valley Pioneer is Buried in California. Funeral services for Sarah Lehmberg Rolph Woodruff, who died Sept 28, 1954, were held Oct 2, in the Long Beach Calif., First Ward Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, conducted by Elder Leslie D. Vaughn.

Music was furnished by the Fa-Lu-Ven Trio comprised of Luella Barnes, Fay Kerner, and Vena Black. They sang two numbers, "In The Garden and "Sweetly and tenderly Jesus is Calling".

The speaker was Patriarch C. Douglas Barnes, who spoke of her long and good life and the love and devotion shown to her by her son Willard S. Rolph, of Long Beach, Calif, for seventeen years drama director of East Long Beach stake. No son could have been more kind and devoted to a mother than he was, for he patiently and tenderly cared for her during her declining and 7 years of illness he said.

Many beautiful flowers that banked the church spoke louder than words of high esteem of the departed and her son.

Interment was in The Green Hills Memorial Park Cemetery at San Pedro, Calif, by the Christensen Pino Mortuary. The grave was dedicated by Patriarch c. Douglas Barnes.

Pallbearers were Bob Matthew, Jack Lawson, and Roy Gibson of Hollywood, Calif, H. E. Blackman of Long Beach, Calif, and William Von Pein of Los Angeles, Calif.

Thus ended the life of one of Star Valley's early pioneers and the last member of that family. "Aunt Sarah", as she was known to many came to the valley in 1876 with her parents, August and Amelia Lehmberg and brothers Harmon and Charlie, when she was 4 years of age.

She spent her early life here enduring the hardships of the early pioneers. But she loved the out of doors and her beautiful horses and the way she rode them was the envy of all who knew her.

She married Social Rolph in the Logan temple in 1900. Later the family moved to Emmett, Idaho where they made their home until the death of her husband. Later she married David Woodruff and they and her son Willard moved to Long Beach, Calif. Since the death of Mr. Woodruff in 1937 she has made her home with her son Willard who cared for her to the end of her days.
