Funeral services for MRS. PEARL ELIZABETH ALFORD, 68, of Lucedale were held May
10 at 3 p.m. at Mt. Pisgah United Pentecostal Church.
She was born in Sevierville, TN. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mr.
Pisgah United Pentecostal Church. She died May 7, 1996 at George County
Hospital.
Survivors include three sons, John Alford and Larry T. Alford of Mobile, AL.;
and Johnny L. Alford of Pensacola, FL.; four daughters, Vivian Ingram of
Pensacola, FL.; Charlene Patrick of Lucedale, Joyce A. Gray of Vinegar Bend,
AL.; and Judy G. Alford of Birmingham, AL.; and 11 grandchildren.
Also surviving are three brothers, Walter H. Vess and James A. Vess of
Leakesville and Elmer P. Vess of Sevierville, TN.; five sisters, Geneva
Singleton and Margaret Hurst of Knoxville, TN.; Ethel Thomas and Maggie Louise
Lewis of Cleveland, TN., and Monnie Moore of OH.; a step-son, Marshall Alford of
Amarillo, TX.; and a step-daughter, Melrae Luebner of Portland, OR.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Mitchell Vess and Judy Dell
(Vest) Vess.
Services were conducted by Rev. M. L. Dykes. Interment was in the
Alford Cemetery with Freeman Funeral Home of Leakesville in charge
of arrangements.
