Henry E. Knapp. aged 75, former resident of Oshkosh, died early Tuesday evening at his home at Long Beach, Calif., after an illness of about a year and a half.

Mr. Knapp was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Knapp. pioneer residents of Oshkosh.
L. E. Knapp having been one of the owners of the "old gang sawmill" In the days when Oshkosh was known as the "Sawdust City."

Henry E. Knapp was born at Oshkosh and lived here until he had attained his majority when he took up government land at Fullerton, Neb. He was married to Miss Anna Ives of this city and the couple resided for many years in Nebraska.

After leaving the farm, he operated a hotel at Fullerton and served as city treasurer for several years. Later he came back to Oshkosh to reside for a number of years, but after the death of his wife. about nine years ago, he removed to Long Beach.

He is survived by one brother, Carl Knapp, of Long Beach, his only sister, Mrs. F. B. Ives, having passed away several years ago. There are a number of nephews and nieces.

Mr. Knapp was a member of the Masonic order.

The funeral arrangements have not been announced, but it is believed the body will be brought here for burial.
