Mary is the daughter of Henry and Sarah (Kennedy) Nigh, she is the twin of Abram Nye.

Mary Nigh, age 15, daughter of Henry and Sarah NIGH, residence of Dorchester Township. Marriage to John B. Reid age 24, son of James and Rachael, residence of Dorchester Township. Married on September 21, 1868 in Avon, Middlesex, Ontario, Canada.

Mary and John had 10 children who lived to adulthood. Four married Metheny siblings, their parents were William Lafayette and Ester Metheny. George married Maud Metheny, John married Myrtle Metheny, Isabelle married George Metheny, and Emily married Nathan Metheny. Lots of double cousins!

Mary died at the age of 84 years, 4 months, and 16 days.
