Carl William "Red" Allman, 67, of Urbana died at 7:09 a.m. Saturday, May 30, at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.
He was born in Champaign, Il. to Virgil G. and Mabel M. Jones Allman. He married Lorraine M. Heater on Aug. 26, 1961. She preceded him in death on Feb. 22, 1992.
He is survived by daughters Lori A. Allman of Springfield, Mo. and Lisa G. Selle of Sidney; sisters, Barbara S. Powell of Mattoon, Geraldine Johnson of Champaign and Joan Burch of Mansfield; grandchildren, Brandie Gaines, Jacob Selle, Brandon Felty and Joshua Selle and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Terry O. Allman, a sister, Luanne Allman and a son-in-law, Roger Selle.
He was owner-operator of Allman's Marathon, which later became Allman's Auto Repair in downtown Urbana.
