Jesse Earl Graham
Jesse Earl "Rusty" GRAHAM, former Rochester police chief, died this morning at 7:30 o'clock at his home, 520 East Ninth street. Death, which was due to a coronary illness, came at the age of 77 years.
Mr. Graham had retired Dec. 1, 1959, after 20 years of service with the Rochester police department. He had been chief of police eight years during that period.
Born Aug. 13, 1892, in Athens, he had spent most of his life in this city except for a few years' residency in Wyoming. His marriage was Oct. 16, 1932, in Rochester, to Pearl K. KRATHWOHL, who survives.
Mr. Graham was a veteran of World War I, a 50-year member of the Leroy Shelton post of American Legion and a member of the Masonic lodge at Newcastle, Wyo.; South Bend Scottish Rite, Fort Wayne Mizpah Shrine and a charter member of the Manitou Shrine club.
Surviving, with the wife, are nieces and nephews.
Last rites will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the Foster & Good funeral home with the Rev. Donald LAMBERT officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call after 7 p.m Thursday at the funeral home.
