J.W. Amason, 60 years of age, and one of the most prominent of Bibb county farmers and business men, died yesterday morning at 6 o'clock at his home on the Houston road. He is survived by his widow; two daughters, Miss Ella Amason, of Mason; Mrs. O.W. Holmes, of St. Petersburgh, Fla; one son, John S. Amason of Mason, and four brothers, G.R and W.L. and G.R. Amason, all of Mason and Dr. C.T, Amason of Doles, and (?) Nora, and Addie Amason, all of Mason.

A host of friends throughout Macon and Bibb county are grieve over the death of Mr. Amason. Like his father, he was held in the highest esteem by all who knew him. His father, the late Joseph Amason, was at one time a member of the Bibb board of county commissioners.
The funeral will be held this afternoon at 4 o'clock from the residence, the Rev. John S. (?) rector of Christ Episcopal church, officiating, Interment will follow at Riverside cemetery. As Mr. Amason was a member of Macon lodge, No. 5, F, and (?), he will be buried with Masonic honors.
