Nancy Jane Maynard Trobaugh died at the age of 84 on December 18, 1956 in Sparta, White County Tennessee of cerebral hemorrhage (Cerebral vascular accident, aka 'stroke'). She was born to Almon Maynard and Harriet Bradford Maynard on November 18, 1872 in Dekalb County, Tennessee.

Nancy's mother was married three times. 1st to Almon Maynard (Nancy's father), and she had 2 siblings: Sarah Trobaugh (1865-?) and Asberry 'Duck,' (1869-?). Two half sisters when her mother married William Bullington and they had Ada Bullington (1877-1961) and Avo Bullington (1880-?). Nancy also has a half brother when her mother married a 3rd time, Mr. Esekiel Maynard, a 1st cousin to Almon (Nancy's dad). They had Charley Maynard (1887-1966) and therefore, Charley was also her cousin.

Nancy married Thomas Lafayette Trobaugh in 1890 in Tennessee at the age of 18. To this union they had thirteen children: Lola Trobaugh Anderson (1889-1983), Sibie Trobaugh (1891-1891), David 'Dave' C. Trobaugh (1893-1966), Clarence Henry Trobaugh, Sr. (1895-1968), Ada Odell Trobaugh Bryant Durham (1898-1989), Almon L. Trobaugh, Sr. (1900-1955), Harriett Trobaugh Jones (1902-?), Rachel Trobaugh Jones Grever (1904-1989), Douglas "Duck" Trobaugh (1905-1931), Clarise "Clara" Lucetta Trobaugh Clelland (1907-1981), Mary Myrtis Trobaugh Martin (1909-2003), Minnie Trobaugh Hedges (1912-?), and Edward Pruiette Trobaugh (1914-1982). Ada, Dave, Mary, and Pruitte all settled in Sparta, Tennessee. Harriett settled in Itta, Mississippi. Rachel settled in Indianapolis, Indiana. Almon in Ada, Oklahoma, Clara in Peru, Indiana, Minnie in Detroit, Michigan, Lola in Gainesboro, Tennessee, and Clarence in Baxter Tennessee.

She is buried at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Baxter, Putnam County, Tennessee. She was a beloved sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. Her legacy continues.
