Arnold M. Dunavin, Retired Electrician
YORK - Arnold M "Mark" Dunavin, 78, of Manchester Township, died at 9:10 am, Tuesday at his home. He was the husband of Rosanna (nee Harlacher) Dunavin. The couple observed their 53rd wedding anniversary on Nov 6.
The service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Dunavin was born May 11, 1922, in Rockingham County, Va. He was the son of the late Arnold D. and Estella M. (nee Witmer) Dunavin.
He was a self-employed electrician, retiring in 1984 after 34 years of service. He was a member of Dover Bethany United Methodist Church, Free and Accepted Masons Zerethada Lodge 451, York County Shrine Club and Scottish Rite in Harrisburg; a life member of 13th Ward Political Club, Veterans of Foreign War Post 7374, Dover Area Ambulance Club and Union Fire and Hose Company 1 in Dover; and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Dunavin also is survived by a brother, C. Allen Dunavin of York; a sister, Evelyn Hess of York; and several nieces and nephews.
Officiating at the service will be his pastors, the Rev. Rodney Richesson and the Rev. Gary Firster.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Visiting Nurse Association Hospice, 218 E. Market St., York 17403.
