LEONARD RAWSON, son of Leonard and Lydia (Hitchcock) Rawson. Born in Pittsford, Vt., December, 1805. Prepared for College in Castleton Seminary and Addison County Grammar School. Teacher in Castleton Seminary, 1833. Tutor in Middlebury College, 1836-1837. Studied theology with Rev. Willard Child, D. D., Pittsford. A. B.; A.M. Died in Pittsford, Vt., Aug. 24, 1838. He graduated at Middlebury College A.D. 1833 & was for several years Tutor in the same. Eminent as a scholar and as a Christian, he gave promise of distinguished service. But the Master called him home. His end was peace.
