GRANDVILLE -- The Rev. John Maas, 79, of Grand Rapids, died Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006.
A veteran, he served in World War II.
He served as a minister in the Christian Reformed Church for 34 years, beginning in Woden, Iowa. He also served congregations in Everett, Wash., South Olive, and Marion, S.D., from which he retired.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Hope Christian Reformed Church, 3100 Barrett St., with the Rev. Vander Hart officiating. Burial will be in Olive Township Cemetery.
Visiting is 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4145 Chicago Drive.
Memorials may be made to Crossroads Bible Institute or Christian Reformed World Relief Committee.
