A funeral Mass for Frances E. Murray, 90, formerly of 807 Montgomery St., will be said at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Cathedral with the Rev. Scott Seymour officiating. Burial will be in Foxwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Murray died Tuesday evening at United Helpers Nursing Home, where she had resided since April 2002.
Mrs. Murray opened a beauty shop in her home in 1944 and operated it until her retirement in 1974.
She was an avid card player and enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and bowling.
Born Jan. 24, 1913, in Ottawa, Ontario, daughter of Robert and Bertha Scott Young , she moved to Ogdensburg with her family when she was a young child and attended local schools.
She married J. Laurence Murray on March 30, 1932, at St. Mary's Cathedral with the Rev. L.D. Berube officiating.
Surviving besides her husband are a daughter and her husband, a son and his wife, 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Four sisters, Katherine Gore, Elva Doe, Elizabeth Bergeron and Marion Young, a brother, Lawrence Young , and a half sister, Virginia Preston, died before her.
