She was born March 7, 1919 at Pratt, Kansas, the daughter of Michael and Alice Duncan Shanley.
An area resident since 1951, she was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Spearville, KS.
On October 2, 1951 she married John F. Ackerman at Pratt. He preceded her in death on January 17, 2003.
Survivors include: 3 sons, John M. and wife Barbie, Dodge City, Larry and wife Nancy, Spearville and David D. and wife Brenda, Dodge City; a daughter, Glenda Stoss and husband Dale, Olmitz; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers, Bill, Mike and Jim Shanley.
