David Case is found Dead in Gas Filled Room; was Accidental
David Case, 79 known throughout the city as the "Blue Man", was found dead in a gas filled room at 505 West Jackson Street early yesterday Morning. After O.E. Bailey, another resident of the house, that Case, could not be aroused.
It was learned after an investigation conducted by Lloyd Shoemaker that the hose which connected a gas jet with a stove in the house had developed several leaks and it was from these leaks that the gas escaped.
An inquest was conducted yesterday afternoon at 2'oclock and the jury returned the following verdict.:
We the jury, find that David B. Case came to his death by accidental asphyxiation due to a defective gas hose connection of a stove.
Case was a bachelor and s survived by several nieces.
