Annie was born in 1893 and then Nola then Mittie born in 1897 then Norma born in 1899 and then there Baby Brother Claude was born in 1900 these Children were very close.
They were born and raised in Homer in Angelina County TX.
Nola at the age of 15 married Andrew Jackson Barge on Sept,-25- 1911.
Nola and Jackson were very much in Love and had a wonderful life together when traggedy struck Jackson had been sick and recovered with the help of his Darling Wife.
I was told many years ago by my Aunt Myrtel that Nola had gone out in bad weather to get something from the store so she could make Soup are some thing for her sick husband and she took sick and died from pneumonia, Nola was only 22 years old when she died.
Her 4 children were so young when she died Myrtel Leah was age-6, James Byron age 5, Lillie Mae age 4 and Claudie Jackson Barge age 11 Months old.
Her Beloved Husband Andrew Jackson Barge wrote in there family Bible when she died:
Nola Barge was 22 Years-9 Months-12 Days old when The Lord called her Home with The Angels in Heaven on Jan.-19-1919 about 4 O'clock Sunday Evening, we had been Married 7 Years- 5 Months- 13- Days - 6 Hours.
Her Parents were Joseph T. Thompson & Mary Elizabeth Carnes and Nola Grand Parents were Henry Carnes and Mary Ann Stanley Carnes, Nola G. Grand Parents were Stephen Jefferson Stanley JR. and Mary Ann Cheairs, and Nola G.G.Grand Parents were Stephen Jefferson Stanley SR. and Elizabeth Huff who came from South Carolina to Texas as a Colonist with Lorenzo De Zavalla Colony.
Stephen was issued a Land Grant on June-27-1835 for 4,432 acres of land one League situated in what is now Angelina County Texas and hes buried in Zavalla Tx. about 3 miles from where Nola is buried.
