J. M. Moorman, one of the real pioneers of this section died at his home in Gorman, Texas. For over 50 years has lived in Gorman, Texas, working here under all the pioneer days. Over 58 years ago, he took as his bride Miss Mary Finley, a girl from his home community in Alabama and in tenderness and love have been side by side down the long journey of life. Seven children were born into this union, with two of their children, Odus and Willard dying in young manhood.

Survivors include Don Moorman, Homer Moorman, C. C. Moorman, Mrs. Wallace Wagner, and Mrs. J. T. Fields.

Services were held in the Gorman Baptist Church. With graveside services held by the A. F. & A. M. of which he had been a member for many years.
