Mrs. Cooper came to Pottawatomie county in 1896 and had operated a trading post at Maud. Survivors listed: 3 daughters: Mrs. Hattie Cooper of Tecumseh (mother of Gordon Cooper), Mrs. J. J. Truscott of Shawnee and Mrs. Guy Troutman of Tucumcari, New Mexico; 1 brother: R .E. Stearns of Shawnee; 1 sister: Mrs. Maud Tinkle of Sulphur.
