Abe Ellis, age 61, passed away at his home in Oneida early Wednesday morning following a short illness. He was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church and had many friends. He is survived by his wife, Cordelia Ellis, 5 sons Mack Ellis of Marshalltown, Iowa, Edward Ellis of Oneida, Abel Jr. and Clifford Ellis of Muncie, Ind., Lawrence Ellis of Oak Ridge; 2 daughters, Mrs. Mildred Priest of Atlanta, Ga., Mr. Leland Stanley of Muncie, Ind.; 4 sisters, Mrs. Zelfia Cook and Mrs. Martha Cobble of Cincinnati, Mrs. Lillie Smith of Grayville, Tenn., Mrs. Alice Thomas of Chattanooga. 2 step sons, George Clark of California and Clyde Clark of Muncie, Ind. 2 step daughters, Mrs. Austin Slaven of Yorktown, Ind., Miss Dorothy Young of Oneida. Funeral services will be conducted from the Oak Grove Baptist Church 2 p.m. Friday with the Revs. Roy Blevins and Lewis Bratcher officiating. Burial in Cecil Cemetery at Cherry Fork. West in charge.
