Alberta Gallimore Akers, 67, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, at her home. She was a daughter of the late Henry & Lucy Huff Gallimore. She was a retired employee of Radford University. Survivors include her husband, Allen Raymond Akers, Radford; twin daughters & son-in-law, Rhonda M. Akers and Wanda & Tony Shepheard, both of Radford; one granddaughter, Kathryn (Katie) Shepheard; one brother & wife, Early & Edith Gallimore, Blacksburg; a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 16, at 11 a.m. at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Radford with Rev. Tony Brescia officiating. Interment will follow in the Hickman Cemetery in Pulaski County. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Gentle Shepherd Hospice, 4040 Franklin Road, SW, Roanoke, VA 24014.
