MARGARET E. WHITELEY, a long time Houston resident and graduate of Rice University, died at home on November 9, 1999. Miss Whiteley retired from the Exxon laboratories in August of 1984 but will be remembered for her many activities with the early Houston Figure Skating Club and the South Texas Obedience Club. Genealogy had been one of her favorite hobbies and she maintained her membership with the Brazos Valley Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Houston Genealogical Society, and was a founding member of the Clayton Library Friends.
Miss Whiteley is survived by her brother Frank Richard Whiteley of Tampa, Florida, her sister-in-law Mrs. Robert Whiteley of Baton Rouge, niece Mrs. John Buttler of Gainsville, Georgia, her nephew Toby Whiteley and several grand and great grand nieces and nephews and personal friend Betty Luker.
Friends are invited to visitation with the family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday November 12, 1999 at The Settegast-Kopf Co. Funeral Directors at 3320 Kirby Drive.
Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday November 13,1999 at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery with Rev. Rick Smith officiating. Donation may be directed to Rice University or the Clayton Library Friends.
