Burial was in Starr Cemetery, Canton.
Mr. Scroggins died September 25, 2008, at his residence.
He was born June 26, 1920 in Eureka to Eugene and Alice Maria Key Scroggins. He was a member of Lawrence Springs Baptist Church, the Christian Motorcycle Association and Holiday Rambler RV. Club. He was an ordained minister. He retired from Greyhound Bus Line as a bus operator. He helped begin Greyhound Van Lines, and later started an earth moving business.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Irene and Willie; and brother. W.T.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Ruby Lois Scroggins, Canton; daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda and Randy Spears, Canton, and Gayle and Sammy Caughron, Grand Saline; grandchildren, Stacey Spears, Wes Spears, Tracey Robertson, Mandy Dearing and Lisa St. Clair; 10 great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
Pallbearers include Greg Robertson, Wesley Spears, Stephen St. Clair, Ken Dearing, Stacey Spears and Skip Lewis.
Honorary pallbearers were Gary Whitaker, Dr. John Turner, Dr. Jimmy Dailey, Ron Seale, Dr. Dan Hilliard and Jeryl Cockerham.
