Mary L. Bowman, 82, Granby, died Sunday, May 31, 2009, at Freeman Neosho Hospital, following a short illness. She was born August 15, 1926, in Granby, MO, to Ronald and Opal (Sanders) Mesplay.
Mrs. Bowman lived most of her life in Granby, and was a cosmetologist for over 50 years. She was a member of Granby Christian Church where she was active in the church ladies group.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon M. Bowman, November 7, 1986. She is survived by two sons, David Bowman and wife, Beth, Granby, and Tim Bowman, Stark City; 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and a sister, Vera Cole, Neosho. She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Hattie Fay Mesplay.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m, Wednesday, at Granby Christian Church, with Virgil Eubanks officiating. Burial will follow at Granby Memorial Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Chip Burnett, Phil Stapp, David Rosinski, Jim Kelly, Mike Satterlee and Kris Satterlee.
Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 8 am until 7 pm, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 7 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Granby Christian Church, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 26, Granby, MO 64844.
