The funeral for Aaron C. Whitlow Sr., 73, of 341 Preston Road, Martinsville, who died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2005, at his home, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Pleasant Grove Christian Church. The Rev. George Harris will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the church and other times at the home on Preston Road.
Whitlow was born in Franklin County to Belvie Davis Whitlow and Lera Turner Whitlow. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Dean Harris Whitlow; five brothers, McGinnis Whitlow, Gurnzie Whitlow, Dennis Whitlow, Leonard Whitlow and Kenny Whitlow; and a sister, Lera Phillips.
He served in the Army and Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was a member of VFW Post 4637.
Surviving are a son, A.C. Whitlow II of Ridgeway; a daughter, Robin R. Whitlow of Durham, N.C.; four brothers, Posey Whitlow of Martinsville, Kermit Whitlow of Ridgeway, W.D. Whitlow of Martinsville and Frank Whitlow of Collinsviile; six sisters, Mozelle Plaster of Martinsville, Pauline Mason of Collinsville, Nancy Wyatt of Union Hall, Christing Kilby of Martinsville, Marie Roop of Manassas and Dare Kennett of Martinsville; and two grandchildren.
