Delma Marie (Adamson) Townsend, 65, died Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff.
Delma was born September 1, 1943 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Alliance, Nebraska to Albert and Alice (Keane) Adamson. Her family farmed in Marsland, Nebraska. She attended high school in Crawford, graduating in 1962.
On August 7, 1964 she was united in marriage to Jack H. Townsend in Hot Springs, South Dakota.
Delma was devoted wife and mother who enjoyed gardening, flowers, and especially taking care of animals.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Townsend of Hemingford; her sons, Roger (Angie) Townsend of Chadron, and Shon (Carrie) Townsend of Alliance; her daughter, Joyce (Mark) Sherlock of Alliance; grandsons, Charles Sherlock of Alliance and Hunter Townsend of Chadron, and her granddaughter, Jessica Sherlock of Alliance. She is also survived by her sister, Audrey Munger of Alliance; her brothers, Everett Adamson of Hemingford, and Lawrence (Lurlene) Adamson of Torrington, Wyoming; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Ellen, brother-in-law, Wes Munger, sister-in-law, Rosalie Adamson, nephew Michael Adamson, and her great great nephew, Colton Taylor.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 30, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Hemingford with Pastor Rod Beiber officiating. Burial will be in the Hemingford Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association, or the Scottsbluff Humane Society.
