Alexander Green Beauchamp was a son of William Beauchamp (1801-1866) and his wife Anna J. Rushing (1803-1875). His parents were from North Carolina, and he was born in Alabama. They came to Mississippi sometime in his youth.

Alexander married Louisa A. Permelia Sulton (3 Oct. 1835-6 Nov. 1915) on 1 March 1855. She was a daughter of John Sulton and Elizabeth Leapart. I have yet to discover what the A. stood for... perhaps Anna or Amelia? They had 12 children, 8 living in 1900:

1. John William Beauchamp (19 Dec. 1855-24 Jan. 1946, m. Harriet Elizabeth Stingley (1859-1947) in 1881. His second wife?)

2. A. (Anna?) Elizabeth Beauchamp (10 Sept. 1857-14 Sept. 1898, m. J. R. McMillan)

3. Mary Jane Beauchamp (10 Sept. 1859-28 Sept. 1866, bur. Old Lutheran cem.)

4. Robert G. Beauchamp (c. 1861/2-aft. 1880)

5. Julia Frances Beauchamp (2 June 1863-21 Dec. 1865, bur. Old Lutheran cem.)

6. Benjamin F. Beauchamp (c.1866-aft 1880)

7. Emily L. (c.1869-aft. 1880)

8. Laura G. Beauchamp (13 Feb. 1871-29 May 1897, m. D. G. Howorth on 20 May 1896)

9. Dr. Jesse L. Beauchamp (19 Feb. 1874-19 May 1964)

10. Rhodella S. Beauchamp (29 Aug. 1876-4 March 1937, m. John H. Meek)

11. Carrie N. Beauchamp (Oct. 1879/81-?, m. Thomas G. Penn on 26 Jun 1907)

12. Ellen M. "Ella" Beauchamp (31 Aug. 1882-12 May 1952, m. James William Therrell on 10 Jan. 1904).

Alexander served in the Confederate Army, as did his three brothers, and two of them died.
