Albert Willis "Buck" Jones, 87, of Fort Collins, passed away July 14, 2006, at his home. He was born on Aug. 19, 1918, in Anthony, Kan., to Albert Willis and Marian M. Jones. On June 1, 1940, he married Phyllis Nadine Seipel in Arkansas City, Kan.
Albert graduated from Anthony High School. He enlisted in the Air Force as a member of the Army Air Corp. in 1944 and was honorably discharged in 1946. He received a private pilot license in 1976. He worked for Cessna Aircraft Plant, which included many different positions, some including general foreman of final assembly, lead man over field and flight operations on the Cessna Modification Project for the Air Force, rigger, experimental mechanic, and crew chief over field flight. He served on the school board for six years in Wichita, Kan. He also owned and operated Jones Appliance Service in Wichita, Kan., servicing major and minor appliances and lawn mowers. He retired Dec. 31, 1979. Albert enjoyed camping, fishing, collecting pens and pencils, small engine repair and wood carving.
Albert is survived by his son; daughter; 6 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Phyllis Nadine Jones, in June.
