RITES HELD TUESDAY FOR N. J. WARREN

Funeral services for Mr. Newton J. Warren, 55, who died at his home here Monday afternoon, were held Tuesday afternoon at the first Baptist Church.

Mr. Warren had been sick for about one week although his health had not been good for months. He was formerly a resident of Carroll county and taught in the Bowden schools for several years. Before coming to Douglasville six years ago, he lived in Atlanta where he was employed for several years by the R. G. Dunn Company.

He was a graduate of Mercer University in the class of 1912 and was an active Mason during most of his life.

Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Martha, and a son, Freeman.

The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Colonel Astor Merritt, Messrs. S. E. Johnson, W. M. Burt, R. H. Harris, T. W. Haddle and J. H. Vandiver. Honorary escort: Dr. Thomas B. Taylor, Dr. C. V. Vansant, Dr. R. E. Hamilton, Mr. E. M. Huffine, Mr. J. O. Sayer, Mr. John Dodson, Mr. W. C. Carver, Mr. G. T. Gilbert, Mr. N. M. Hawley, Mr. Gordon Banks, Mr. T. P. Huckaby, Mr. H. N. Kemp, Mr. Fred Ingram, Mr. Fred Morris, J. Cowan Whitley Co., funeral directors, were in charge.
