He had been married for 45 years and 7 months to his loving wife, Billie Cornelius.
Mr. Cornelius worked for the maintenance department at Kerrville State Hospital for 15 years. He was a member of the Junction Highway Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Billie of Ingram; two daughters, Cynthia Ann Foley and husband, Phillip of Rockwall; and Dana Lisa Farmer and husband, Chuck of Midland; son, Doyle Dwain Cornelius and wife, Debbie; 13 grandchildren, Vicki Powell, Stephanie Pemberton, Ila Lynn Duke, Tonja Fritz, Bryan Melton, Brittnee, Megan, Caylin and Jandi Cornelius, Ross and Randy Nyerges, Teagen and Kelly Farmer; and eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were June 22 at Vanderpool Tabernacle in Vanderpool, with grandson Joe Duke officiating.
Interment followed at Vanderpool Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ronnie Stapleton, Bill Schaefer, Tom Bomer, Barry Collins, Mark Whitacre and Bill Surber.
