Henry M. O'Hotto was born January 13, 1899 in Little Falls, Minnesota the son of Lawrence and Elizabeth (Schichta) O'Hotto. Hank attended rural grade school and Business School in Little Falls. He was enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Service in the spring of 1919.
Hank was united in marriage to Margaret Keough on June 30, 1925, at the St. Cloud Cathedral in St. Cloud. Mr. O'Hotto started his career at the Little Falls Bank and then moved to Minneapolis where he worked at the Minneapolis Threshing Machine Company in sales. The O'Hottos moved to St. Cloud where Hank worked for John Deere. In 1946 Henry bought the John Deere Dealership in Alexandria and its been in his and his daughters family ever since.
Mr. O'Hotto was very active in the Alexandria community. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was the first Grand Knight in Alexandria. He was also a member of the Chamber of Commerce, Alexandria Golf Club, Legion and Elks.
Henry died June 25, 1995 at the Knute Nelson Memorial Home. He is survived by four daughters: Mrs. Leroy (Jean) Poganski of St. Cloud; Mrs. Vernon (Joan) Lindquist of Alexandria, Elizabeth Gillen of Edina; Mrs. William (Mary) Peters of Glenwood; one brother Edward O'Hotto of Little Falls; 17 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial was held June 29, 1995 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Al Ludwig and Father Kenneth O'Hotto officiating. Pallbearers were his grandsons; Mark, Paul, William Lindquist; Thomas, Michael, Gary, Paul, Robert, John Gillen; and David and James Peters.
Entombment was at the St. Mary's Mausoleum in alexandria. Services directed by Petermeier's Alexandria Funeral Home.
