Farm is now owned by Fred Sunderland. A modern granite marker was erected circa 1955 "1747 John Allen 1805, 5th & 8th Battalions, Cumberland County militia 1777-1782". Old marble stone in two pieces is laid on top of grave. (Cemetery survey 1976-77)

*Find-a-grave contributor "psb" added the following info: According to the 1886 book "History of the Susquehanna & Juniata Valleys" (page 595), John Allen had 5 sons. Certainly 4 are seen in the 1800 and 1810 censuses.
The names given in the book are William, James, Robert, George and Christian. According to the book, William & Robert went west, James went to Lancaster (his name could also be John Jr.), George stayed on the homestead until 1851 then went to Indiana where he died, and Christian or Christopher went to Centre county.
