d: Nov 15 1906, Henry Co, MO
bur: Hopewell Cemetery, Walker Twp, Henry Co, MO
Clinton Missouri, Nov 24 1906 - Archibald Colson died at his home west of Clinton on Thursday, November 15, 1906, at 10 o'clock a.m. His death was not unexpected since Mr. Colson has been an invalid for more than two years. During this time, his wife has been a patient, untiring nurse, leaving undone nothing that would add to his comfort or prolong his life. He was the eldest son of James Colson and wife and was born April 27, 1837 in Overton County, Tenn. He came to Missouri in 1859 and had resided on his farm west of Clinton for a number of years. Six brothers and five sisters, all living on this and surrounding counties, survive him. On June 24, 1863, Mr. Colson married Miss Hannah M. Sevier. They had three sons and four daughters. The sons are: Dr. John Colson, Spruce, Bates County; Boss Colson, who lives near Piper, and Press Colson, who lives at home. The daughters are Mrs. Mert Anderson, Mrs. Tom Crissman, Mrs. Mollie Anderson and Mrs. Joe Harness. Funeral at Hopewell. The interior of the grave was draped in festoons of green vines and white and purple mums and ferns, very beautiful and profuse. (obit from Henry Co. website, used with permission.)
