J.H. Burks Sr., Buried Today
MOULTON -- James Henry Burks, Sr., 78, died at 2 p.m. Tuesday at his home in Moulton after a seven week illness.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today at Providence Baptist Church near Hatton; Rev. Paul Lang and Rev. Martin Banks conducted.
Burial followed in the adjoining cemetery with Brown Funeral company of Moulton directing.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lavada Burks, Moulton, two daughters, Mrs. George NeSmith Town Creek, Rt. 3, and Mrs. Herbert Leigh, Moulton; four sons, Roy Burks, Town Creek Rt. 1, Henry, Decatur, Woodrow B., Moulton, and William, Town Creek; three half-sisters, Mrs. John Myers, Haleyville Rt. 3; Mrs. Essie Halley, Leighton, and Mrs. Alma Kemp, Texas; and one half-brother, Ralph Burks, Double Springs, and 12 grandchildren.
